SAN FRANCISCO - Californer -- Earth Day: Greenopia Launches Nationwide Digital Platform for Sustainable and Healthy Living
Greenopia, has launched its new app here in San Francisco, for people looking for verified local sustainable businesses, without spending hours of research on different platforms to get the right answer. Greenopia's businesses are independently verified, and given attributes: good for you, good for the planet and good for the community. This way of promoting a business by their values and sustainable attributes meet the growing demands of younger users who are tired of 'greenwashing' and 'user generated data', that may have been a paid review.
Greenopia is led by three accomplished sustainability advocates:
Founder and CEO Gay Browne, a trailblazing environmental advisor and author of Living With A Green Heart; Co-founder, Jon Cross; and Creative Director, Nastia Nemro.

"In recent years, environmental and health awareness have become mainstream," said Gay Browne, founder of Greenopia. "Our goal is to help consumers make it easier to reduce their impact on the environment and live a more sustainable, healthier lifestyle, whilst still having fun and enjoying life."
Greenopia employs a strict assessment system to independently research and qualify each business it lists. No business can pay to be listed by Greenopia. It's free to take the assessment and be included in Greenopia's listings. For businesses looking to deepen customer engagement, affordable marketing packages will be available through a low-cost subscription model, offering tools to connect with customers, provide discounts, and reward loyalty points.

"Our research is conducted using life-cycle assessment principles," said Jon Cross, COO and co-founder. "We apply a weighted scoring system originally designed by the Brenn School of Sustainability, and endorsed by the EPA, to ensure each business attests that they meet a minimum criteria for inclusion in our listings."
