LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Hunger Action Los Angeles (HALA) is proud to announce its 2025 gala, to be held on World Food Day, Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Guelaguetza, a James Beard Award winning restaurant in Los Angeles, California. The evening will bring together advocates, supporters, and changemakers for a powerful night of community, compassion, and fundraising—all in support of HALA's mission to end hunger and promote health equity through education, outreach, and direct service.
The gala will feature thoughtfully curated appetizers, engaging speakers, and an inspiring showcase of HALA's impactful work. Guests will learn how HALA's hands-on programs are making fresh, nutritious food more accessible for vulnerable populations.
Every ticket sold helps HALA move closer to a hunger-free Los Angeles.

Guelaguetza first opened its doors in 1994 by immigrant husband and wife Fernando Lopez and Maria Monterrubio. Since then, their goal at Guelaguetza has been to showcase the best of their family recipes and stay true to authentic Oaxacan ingredients. Guelaguetza's mission is for all of its patrons to live and experience Oaxaca through all of its dishes.
