Learn what your children explore each day and how you can help at home
SAN DIEGO - Californer -- Learn how your children spend their school day and how you can help them grow at home on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, from 5-6 pm at our La Jolla Montessori School (LJMS) event!
Here, you'll learn about the LJMS school day. Hosted by Kelly McFarland, Director, this quick 60 minute session will help parents understand the Montessori Method and how to better help their kids.
"After a decade of teaching the Montessori Method, I've learned there's always something more teachers can do to introduce learning to young children and unleash their limitless potential every single day," McFarland said.
Among the topics she'll cover are:
• Toileting process for toddlers
• Perimeters of our three-year Primary thru Kindergarten Montessori Preschool program
• How we integrate LJMS's accredited Maria Montessori program to prepare children for first grade.

"Our Montessori private school gives children a great start toward becoming lifelong learners. We provide an interactive, hands-on educational environment designed to build children into self-motivated and successful learners. Our mission is to ensure that your child will succeed in a private elementary school, and that involves teaching parents as well," McFarland said.
Most importantly, you'll learn how you can help your child at home.
"To that end, we'll break down the steps of how we help mold your child's focus, concentration and interaction during Year One. Next, we'll discuss the adjustment toward your children teaching themselves in Year Two--how things connect to their environment and the classroom. Finally, we'll discuss how your children help teach younger children in Year Three."
Throughout this process, two headteachers for the school's English/Spanish bilingual program will teach students vocabulary and grammar in such a way that they'll become fluent speakers before entering elementary school. The outgrowth: children's minds process learning faster while getting prepared for the real world.

"The best part is that your children will be ready to master classroom teaching at any of the private schools in La Jolla or San Diego County--especially our own--going forward," McFarland said.
"I truly love being in school every day with children because it energizes me to see them succeed. I know they will be ready for elementary school. I want parents to know that by simply visiting us for sixty minutes that they, too, will benefit from the learning we'll share," McFarland said.
