VENTURA, Calif. - Californer -- Despite the challenges that accompanied 2020, Local PODS® Moving & Storage was committed to supporting as many nonprofits as possible in the community, donating over $20,000 between monetary and container donations. As the end of the year approached, Local PODS wrapped up their 15th-anniversary celebration of business in Ventura County by providing some additional holiday cheer to their community.
"We wanted to do something that celebrated organizations and their work throughout the county, and the holiday season made us realize the importance of helping those in need," said Steve Yapp, owner of Local PODS Moving & Storage. "When we opened our doors in 2005, we never expected to be embraced as we have, so it has been a true honor to be a part of this wonderful community, and we wanted to say, 'thank you' by giving back to those who deserve it the most."
Local PODS partnered with many organizations, including KHAY radio for their Christmas Wishes campaign, which granted wishes to listeners throughout the county and donated to Casa Pacifica's Dove Holiday Wishes for children in foster care. In addition to the donation, each designated local charity was featured on the Local PODS Facebook page with a platform of over 5,000 followers to help build community awareness.

As one of the most successful franchisees in North America, Local PODS, under the leadership of Yapp and Al Jonas, has donated over $1.5 million in logistics, providing PODS containers, trucks, fuel, and associates to 100 Central Coast charities. To name a few, Local PODS has supported Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County, Casa Pacifica, FoodShare, The City Center, Ventura Education Partnership, the Ventura Neighborhood for Learning, Santa to the Sea, Storyfest, Artwalk, and Veterans Stand Down events.
"There are so many businesses and organizations that have really pulled together to help one another, and we are happy we could be a small part of that giving community," said Yapp. "We know 2021 will continue to be a year of challenges, and we will continue our commitment to partner with our community leaders to help, providing container, logistics, collecting donations, and any other ways we can."
