The Southland Symphony Orchestra and Chorus is thrilled to be able to return with MESSIAH on Sunday December 11, 2022 at 4pm at Bethel Congregational Church in Ontario, California.
ONTARIO, Calif. - Californer -- The Southland Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, with outstanding vocal soloists, presents our 5th "Almost Annual "Messiah" Performance (COVID prevented our 2020 presentation) on Sunday, Dec 11th, 2022 at 4pm, under the baton of Music Director and Conductor Sylvia Lee Mann
With full orchestra, chorus, and soloists under the direction of Dr. Sylvia Lee Mann, this promises to be "THE" musical event of the season here in Ontario. This year we are featuring phenomenal soloists including Patrick Blackwell, Bass, Steve Grabe, Tenor, Debbie Dey, Alto and Erin Wood, Soprano.
"Messiah" was presented at Bethel Congregational Church as an annual event by Earle Blakeslee and the Foothill Oratorio Society, from 1945 - 1959, at which time the event had become so popular it was moved the Gardiner Spring Auditorium. The last performance was in 1970. In December of 2017, after 47 years, the Southland Symphony Orchestra and Chorus finally brought Messiah home to Bethel. https://youtu.be/eySeNZx5zZ0
