NAL Player, Daveon Howard, Finds Thankfulness Despite Difficult Year for Sports

BUENA PARK, Calif. - Californer -- With a year like 2020, it can oftentimes become more challenging to remain positive. Professional football player, Daveon Howard, has been doing his best to keep his head up and remember what is most important in life, despite the struggles created for his career by Covid.

Trying to find a team to call home during a pandemic had not been an easy task, but luckily for Daveon Howard, he no longer has to wait for his pro opportunity. Howard received his contract to play with the Orlando Predators, of the Indoor Football League, just last week.  This blessing comes just in time for one of the most thankful seasons of the year, giving this pro athlete just one more thing to be grateful for as this year comes to a close. Daveon reminds himself how thankful he is during these difficult times, especially during Thanksgiving. Though the waiting has been tough, he understands his circumstances could have been worse. He tries to stay humble and thankful whenever he gets the chance. He is also grateful he can continue to play the sport he loves at a higher level, during a time when may athletes are losing any hope of an opportunity.

Daveon could not be more excited to spend time with his in-laws and his immediate family this Thanksgiving. Not only are they his favorite people to spend time with, but he also says they are the best cooks he knows! This year he will be getting everything he can fit on his plate, ham, turkey, cornbread and anything else his family has for him. He will most definitely add his favorite dessert, banana pudding, to his list of consumption.

This Thanksgiving holiday could not be complete without the traditional Thanksgiving football games. This is something that Daveon is excited about and he has his own predictions. Howard predicts the Detroit Lions will beat the Houston Texans, The Washington Football Team will beat the Dallas Cowboys and the Baltimore Ravens will fall to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

All predictions aside, one thing that is for certain is that Howard will be basking in gratitude as he spends the holiday season with those that mean the most.
