Test results are a major milestone in virtual BNG performance
SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Californer -- netElastic, an innovative software company providing high-performance routing solutions, today announced test results for netElastic's Virtual BNG running on 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, which showed an up to 56% increase in compute performance per dollar and up to a 20% increase in packet throughput performance when compared to the previous CPU generation.*
New 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors feature a flexible architecture with integrated artificial intelligence (AI) acceleration with Intel® DL Boost technology, plus advanced security capabilities to protect data and application code with Intel® Software Guard Extension (Intel® SGX) and Intel® Crypto Acceleration.
According to Weixiao Liu, CEO at netElastic, "To accommodate the rise in internet traffic and users, broadband providers want to quickly and economically scale their networks while maintaining an excellent customer experience. netElastic and Intel are working together to achieve new levels of vBNG performance to ensure the best customer experience."

The test results showed compute increases per dollar improved from 30% to 56% across all packet sizes when compared to the previous CPU generation, with a more than 56% gain at a 256 byte packet size, which is the most stressful test case in terms of millions of packets per second. netElastic vBNG also achieved between 264.9 Gbps and 383.3 Gbps of throughput depending upon packet size with 128,000 attached devices.*
"The new 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors are delivering the next generation of optimized-networks that meet a variety of workload demands," said Keate Despain, Intel Network Builders Director, Network Platforms Group, Intel. "netElastic is a valued member of our ecosystem, and the deployment of their innovative vBNG software, based on our latest platform and ingredients, is delivering impressive performance upgrades as well as greater scalability, flexibility, security and performance to their broadband provider customers."
