Gateway Oaks Dental Marks 18th Year in Sacramento by Investing in Modern Dental Technology

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Californer -- Gateway Oaks Dental, the Sacramento practice led by Dr. Hoang Truong, DDS, is marking its 18th year in business this month, and much of that history tracks a quieter story than the anniversary itself: how far dental treatment has changed since the office opened, and how much of that change happened inside the same building.

When the practice first opened, a damaged tooth typically meant a temporary crown, a mailed impression, a wait of one to two weeks for a dental lab, and a second appointment to place the permanent restoration. Gateway Oaks Dental now offers same-day crowns, designed and milled in the office using digital imaging rather than a physical mold, so many patients leave with a permanent restoration in a single visit. The same digital imaging system lets patients see a preview of proposed cosmetic or restorative work before treatment begins, rather than relying on a verbal description alone.

Dr. Truong has overseen that shift personally, treating some patients across the full 18 years and watching their dental needs change from childhood cavities to adult restorative and cosmetic care. The practice describes its technology investments as incremental rather than dramatic, added over years as equipment and techniques matured, rather than as a single rebrand tied to the anniversary.

"Patients do not usually notice new equipment. They notice that the visit that used to take two appointments now takes one," said Dr. Hoang Truong, DDS, of Gateway Oaks Dental. "Eighteen years of small changes like that add up to something patients actually feel."
