Festival Will Spotlight the Southern California Premiere of Chinese film 'ONE SECOND' followed by a Pacific Rim Gala
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Californer -- Tonight the 22nd Annual Newport Beach Film Festival will present its Chinese Spotlight, an evening celebration of Chinese cinema and culture. The event will feature the Southern California Premiere of the highly anticipated film, 'ONE SECOND' ('YI MIAO ZHONG') followed by a festive Pacific Rim Showcase Celebration.
A beautiful, moving and deeply personal homage to the redemptive power of cinema, 'ONE SECOND' ('YI MIAO ZHONG') follows a prisoner who escapes from a labor camp in China during the Cultural Revolution, risking everything in his search for a stolen film reel in which his long-lost daughter appears for one second. Soon he encounters a thief, an orphaned girl, haunted by her own terrible loss. Directed by Yimou Zhang, this film stars Yi Zang and Wei Fan.
