LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Content creator and paranormal storyteller Nicki Baber is turning horror into a lifestyle brand with her breakout podcast Make You Scream, an audio series that blends ghost stories, cursed games, and viral storytelling for a generation raised on glam and fear.
Nicki's journey started in a haunted house in Oklahoma, where the shadows never quite stayed still and the lights had a mind of their own. Her mother used to tell her, "The house isn't haunted. You are." Now with over 7.4 million followers on TikTok and an audience that's obsessed with both her beauty tutorials and her bone-chilling stories, it seems the ghosts were only the beginning.
"My content is for the girls who were told their imagination was too big," says Nicki. "The ones who grew up haunted by spirits, by feelings, by everything they couldn't explain."
More on The Californer
Her first season of Make You Scream is titled Don't Play Scary Games, and dives into cursed internet rituals like Bloody Mary and The Closet Game, told in high-retention narrative style. Fans describe it as "creepy but comforting" a haunted sleepover vibe that's resonating deeply with her Gen Z and Millennial listeners.
Nicki is also the founder of The Banshee Society, a fast-growing fanbase and interactive brand experience for followers who feel connected to something "other." What started as a ghost story has evolved into a movement one that blends storytelling, glamor, and feminine spirituality with a flair for the eerie.
Whether she's filming a ghost hunt, sharing a fan-submitted story, or building her paranormal aesthetic brand, Nicki Baber is proving that horror has never looked this good.
