Pickleball International Committee Announces Launch of PIC China PR Chapter

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. - Californer -- In its mission to develop the sport of pickleball worldwide, the Pickleball International Committee (PIC), the premier world governing body for pickleball, has announced the launch of its People's Republic of China chapter, PIC China PR.

PIC China PR will be run by two of China's leading sports marketing executives, Lu Jianhua (Johnny) and Zheng Wen (Winston) of Beijing Changshi Sky Sports Technology Co., Ltd. (CSS) a sports marketing company.

"China PR is considered to be one of the most important markets for pickleball and has the potential to certainly be the biggest market in terms of player participation," stated Terry Cecil, CEO of the Pickleball International Committee. "PIC and PIC China PR are very fortunate to have the leadership of Johnny and Winston Wen in developing pickleball in China PR. Both executives have decades top level sponsorship experience with China Basketball Association, China Rugby Association, China Chess Association, China Football Association and involved with Cristiano Ronaldo's agency team for sponsorship. Their sports event, education, television and training experience will deliver massive impact for PIC China PR. The opportunity for pickleball training and media alone will be historic for the sport"

Zheng Wen (Winston) served as Managing Director of Octagon for Greater China and Member of Octagon's Global Management Committee, served as the CEO for Infront Sports & Media as well as the Director, Global Sponsorship Dept for UBS.

Lu Jianhua (Johnny) is a senior management and marketing professional in high-tech, Internet and sports marketing areas. He helped launch the Chinese Professional Football League keying on technology, sponsorship and television as well as founded "China Football Daily" Newspaper and achieving a circulation of millions of followers.

PIC China PR is working with the Pickleball International Committee in the planning stages of its membership and sponsorship programs and its first tournament which will be held this summer in Beijing.
