Inspired by actual events. A heartwarming tale about hope, redemption, retribution and true love.
LOS ANGELES - Californer -- "Rescue Heart: A Love Story" is the debut novel by award-winning filmmaker Tane McClure. Inspired by actual events this fast paced story centers around Nina, a Native American woman and her rescued fighting dog. Banished from the reservation they end up in California where they meet Charlie, a kindly big wave surfer. For a moment, it seems they may have found a second chance at happiness, but they are being pursued by a vicious drug lord who is using Nina's Navajo homeland as his drug cartel's distribution center. Worlds collide when the FBI hot on the trail of the drug money have a showdown at the beach.
The book is adapted from a screenplay written by McClure from a story created by her and longtime friend and collaborator Tyke Caravelli.
Comments Tane…"I wanted to create something to raise awareness of abuse both human and animal, such as missing and murdered indigenous women, dog fighting and cruelty to animals." She continues with…"If I can help save just one soul in need, then I have truly done something worthy and I hope this book will rescue your heart as it did mine."
