RJM Design Group brings expertise in large-scale sports planning to transformative Ontario Sports Empire
ONTARIO, Calif. - Californer -- Ontario, CA — RJM Design Group has been selected to provide landscape architecture, master planning, and site design services for the Ontario Sports Empire, a transformative 190-acre sports destination currently in development and scheduled to open in Fall 2026. Upon completion, the project will become the largest multi-sport complex west of the Rocky Mountains, positioning Ontario, California as a premier host city for major regional and national sporting events.
The Ontario Sports Empire is envisioned as a next-generation athletic campus designed to accommodate elite competition, community recreation, and large-scale tournaments. The expansive site will feature 20 long fields, 14 youth diamond fields, 8 full-size diamond fields, 4 football and rugby fields, and 2 championship-level baseball fields, creating one of the most comprehensive field inventories in the United States.

Located just 10 minutes from Ontario International Airport, the complex is strategically positioned to attract teams, families, and spectators from across the country, reinforcing Ontario's role as a destination for sports tourism and year-round athletic programming.
RJM Design Group's scope of work includes integrated site planning, landscape architecture, and experiential design, with a focus on creating a cohesive environment that balances high-performance athletic infrastructure with welcoming public spaces. The firm's approach prioritizes circulation, usability, spectator experience, and long-term operational efficiency while supporting the scale and intensity of tournament-level use.
In addition to its extensive athletic facilities, the sports park will offer a wide range of spectator and family-oriented amenities, including a dedicated family activity area, large video display boards, shaded seating, passive turf zones, and elevated pedestrian concourses for optimal field viewing. Supporting features will include restroom and concession buildings, upper-level restaurant-style deck seating, three playgrounds, batting cages, interior walking paths, and cohesive monument and wayfinding signage throughout the site.
