Background: The goal of the listening session is to gather community perspectives on:
  • Roles and responsibilities of the SJPD
  • How the SJPD engages with the community and incorporates their input into its operations
  • SJPD Use of Force (critical events, policy, training, transparency, and accountability)
  • Proposed solutions and recommendations for the SJPD
The CNA Institute for Public Research (CNA) team will document all input to analyze and thematically incorporate them into their analysis. The final report is tentatively scheduled to be publicly released and presented to San José City Council in the Fall of 2021.

The meeting is open to all members of the San José community. Translation services will be available upon request. For translation other than Spanish, please contact SJPDCommunityfeedback@cna.org.

If you are unable to attend the session but would like to provide feedback and information you may contact CNA by submitting comments to SJPDCommunityFeedback@cna.org.

CNA was selected to review SJPD's operations regarding use of force and 21st Century policing practices.
