~ The City of San Jose has announced its intent to adopt a Negative Declaration for the Stratford Preparatory School project. The project seeks to increase enrollment from 800 to 1,349 students at an existing private school located on a 47-gross acre site. No physical development would occur.
The City has conducted an environmental review of the project and concluded that it will not have a significant effect on the environment. The public is invited to review and comment on the Draft Negative Declaration during the comment period, which begins August 22nd, 2023 and ends September 12th, 2023.
The Draft Negative Declaration, Initial Study, and reference documents are available online at https://www.sanjoseca.gov/your-government/depar... as well as in person at the City of San José Department of Planning, Building and Code Enforcement, located at City Hall, 200 East Santa Clara Street; the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Main Library, located at 150 E. San Fernando Street; and the West Valley Branch Library, located at 1243 San Tomas Aquino Road from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

In order to assess any potential environmental impacts associated with this project, the City conducted an environmental review which concluded that it will not have a significant effect on the environment. As such, they have prepared a Draft Negative Declaration (ND) for this project which is now open for public review and comment until September 12th 2023.
The Draft ND along with its accompanying Initial Study and reference documents can be accessed online via https://www.sanjoseca.gov/your-government/depar... or in person at three locations within San Jose: City Hall (200 East Santa Clara Street), Dr Martin Luther King Jr Main Library (150 E San Fernando Street) or West Valley Branch Library (1243 San Tomas Aquino Road). All documents are available between 9am - 5pm Monday through Friday for public viewing and comment submission during this period
