Viva Parks Downtown and Council District 3 hosted "Meet in the Street," a Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services pilot activation program that took place at San Pedro Square Friday through Sunday nights from Aug. 16 to Sept. 8. An estimated 500 nightly attendees came together to experience an open-street environment with fun activities and good food. Visitors for the night challenged friends to ping pong and corn hole matches or enjoyed a meal on the colorful tables between San Pedro and St. John Streets. People of all ages completed more than 500 feedback surveys for the pilot program. Once analyzed, the feedback will help improve future activations.
