RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - Californer -- In the annual attempt to encourage its All-American City to align with the United States Government in making Juneteenth an Official City Holiday, Walker Entertainer Academy delivers Rancho Cucamonga Southern California's 2026 Juneteenth Federal Holiday activities.
WEA is impressed that this year will be the Rancho Cucamonga School District's first ever Official Juneteenth Holiday observance!
On the National Holiday itself, Friday June 19, 2026 at 10:00 am PST, prolific Hollywood actor Phillip E Walker-MFA will heed Opal Lee's call by leading his 5th annual Rancho Cucamonga Juneteenth WALK from near the Cucamonga Station side gate of the Solamonte Apartment Homes complex on the corner of 7th & Anaheim to Rancho Cucamonga City Hall. Upon the WALK's arrival at about 10:45 am, San Jose State University Professor Emeritus and First President of the Black Theatre Network, Dr. Ethel Pitts Walker, will speak on the origins of Juneteenth and why her City's government should make Juneteenth a Rancho Cucamonga Official Holiday.
