Author Neal Stephenson coined the term "metaverse" in his 1992 science-fiction novel "Snow Crash," which envisions a virtual reality-based successor to the internet. The term metaverse went mainstream overnight when Mark Zuckerberg announced the name change of Facebook to Meta in late October 2021.

According to McKinsey & Company, the metaverse could be worth upwards of 5 trillion dollars by 2030. Goldman Sachs predicts one-third of the digital economy will shift into virtual worlds and then expand by 25%. The future of the internet is built around decentralized technologies and virtual worlds. Now is the time for people to learn how to leverage those technologies. To help them learn, ISC will offer 5 distinct breakout tracks: Web3, Influencers, Soul on Fire, Entrepreneurs, and Authors.

Why the Metaverse?

Web3 isn't reserved for crypto investors. It's a growing platform that can incorporate almost anything, including church gatherings, podcasts, sports, gaming, dating, VR / AR courses, workspaces, fitness, and much more. Oberbrunner says, "These shifts are taking place right before our eyes and it's our commitment to teach attendees how to navigate this new world safely and effectively."

About the Conference

Igniting Souls Conference began in 2010 in a small church basement and has since grown to fill the Hilton Polaris Conference Center and this year the International Center for Creativity in Dublin, Ohio. Hundreds more attend online.
