SAN DIEGO - Californer -- Following a year of relentless growth and a surge in global streaming momentum, The Reckless have officially kicked the doors down on their 2026 season with today's release of the high-octane single, "OBLIVION."
"OBLIVION" marks a visceral turning point for the band, serving as the first studio recording to feature their newest member, drummer Sophia Cole. Cole's high-velocity style and heavy-pocket grooves have injected a new level of aggression into the band's DNA, stripping away the polish and leaning into a harder, more urgent sound that demands to be played at maximum volume.
The release of "OBLIVION" acts as a definitive statement of intent, building on the massive foundation laid by their 2025 campaign. That momentum was recently underscored by a nomination for Best Indie/Alternative Album at the 35th Annual San Diego Music Awards for their EP, Who Are You—a project that has already surpassed six-figure streaming milestones and captured a devoted global audience.

While the industry recognition confirms the band's trajectory, "OBLIVION" proves they are not standing still. The track captures a unit firing on all cylinders, blending classic rock grit with a fierce, modern edge that resonates with the heavy-music underground and indie-alt purists alike.
"OBLIVION is about the breakthrough," says founder and frontman Fritz Fayman. "We spent the last year responding to the noise of the world, but this track is about rising above it. With Sophia in the fold, the energy has shifted—we're leaner, louder, and focused entirely on what's next."
"OBLIVION" is available now on all major streaming platforms. The Reckless will join the 35th Annual San Diego Music Awards at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay on May 6.
