SACRAMENTO ~ Governor Gavin Newsom of California is embarking on a statewide tour to highlight policy proposals that will strengthen the state's diverse communities. During the tour, he will meet with residents and make major policy announcements to improve the lives of all Californians, lower costs for families, and create safer communities.
The Governor's tour will include four major policy announcements: reducing homelessness, improving public safety, reducing health care costs, and reforming mental health care.
The first announcement on reducing homelessness will take place on Thursday, March 16th at 1:00 p.m. in Sacramento. The second announcement on improving public safety will take place on Friday, March 17th at 11:30 a.m. in the Bay Area. Reporters must RSVP by Tuesday, March 14th at 5 p.m. to receive further instructions for this event.

The third announcement on reducing health care costs will take place on Saturday, March 18th at 11:00 a.m in Los Angeles and the fourth announcement on reforming mental health care will take place on Sunday, March 19th at 1:00 p.m in San Diego.
All events are open to credentialed media only and media interested in attending must RSVP to govpressoffice@gov.ca.gov by Tuesday, March 14th at 5 p.m for the public safety event and by Wednesday, March 15th at noon for all other events with names of all media members attending specified in the RSVPs . All events will also be available to TV stations on the TVu Grid as "CA_GovernorPack" and on the LiveU Matrix under "California Governor" for those unable to attend in person or who wish to watch remotely from home or work locations .
