Legendary bassist Tiran Porter of The Doobie Brothers will receive the Lifetime Changemaker Award at White Hall Arts Academy's Winter Spectacular Concert on December 8 at the LA Philharmonic Beckman YOLA Center.
LOS ANGELES - Californer -- White Hall Arts Academy is proud to announce that legendary bassist and vocalist Tiran Porter will receive the 2nd Annual Lifetime Changemaker Award at the Winter Spectacular Concert on December 8, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., to be held at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Beckman YOLA Center (101 S La Brea Ave, Inglewood, CA 90301). This award, inaugurated in 2023 and first presented to Grammy-winning artist Macy Gray, honors individuals who have made a profound impact in the arts and continue to inspire future generations.
Tiran Porter, best known for his groundbreaking contributions to the iconic rock band The Doobie Brothers, will be celebrated for his decades of influence in the music industry. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Porter joined The Doobie Brothers in 1972, bringing a signature sound that would define the band's unique blend of rock, R&B, and country. Over the years, Porter has contributed to some of the band's most beloved hits, including "Minute by Minute," "Black Water," and "Listen to the Music." His dynamic bass lines and soulful vocals have left an indelible mark on the music world, with his influence felt across genres and generations.
