This donation marks the foundation's second major contribution to the YMCA this year.
SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Californer -- The Valentine Foundation pledged $500,000 over 5 years to help fund the expansion and renovation of the Simi Valley Family YMCA, a branch of the Southeast Ventura County YMCA. Groundbreaking is anticipated in Spring 2026 with the completion of the project by early 2027.
This donation marks the foundation's second major contribution to the YMCA this year. Earlier in 2025, the Valentine Foundation contributed $250,000 to the YMCA's Find My Genius program, a free five-week program for low- and moderate-income students who are not reading at grade level to support their academic and social-emotional learning.
The Valentine Foundation is based in Westlake Village. It partners with organizations that share its commitment to education, environmental stewardship and lasting community impact. "We're grateful to be able to support the YMCA and its great projects," says Jerry Meador, foundation chairperson. "We believe in the YMCA's strong commitment to the community and education. It truly aligns with our mission."
