SAN DIEGO - Californer -- Visions Museum of Textile Art (VMOTA) proudly hosts an open call for textile art pieces that will be donated to individuals who lost their homes in the recent fires in Los Angeles County. Each piece collected will be sent to Los Angeles fire victims free of charge via fair distribution to help those recipients bring a sense of welcome as they move into their next place.
"It is unimaginable to comprehend the extent of loss and grief that our neighbors are experiencing in addition to losing their home structure, from family heirlooms to artwork to basic necessities, countless memories, and so much more," states VMOTA Executive Director Katrina Bruins. "We hope that this gesture reminds our neighbors that the city of San Diego stands with them as they endure this difficult transition."
In a show of solidarity, Visions Museum of Textile Art invites artists to contribute to the "United We Stand" art call, which aims to remind our neighbors that we stand with them during their challenging time of transition. These pieces celebrates the strength of community and the power of art to unite all.
