Fundraiser supports educational initiatives for children in need
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Californer -- Yours Humanly, a global nonprofit that transforms the lives of children in need around the world by providing access to quality education and equitable resources, is holding its 2024 Gift of Schooling Gala on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Blackhawk Museum, 3700 Blackhawk Plaza Circle, Danville, California. Attendees will include San Francisco Bay Area leaders and advocates in private, public, and nonprofit sectors who recognize the power of shared generosity and who support causes benefiting children.
Funds from the gala will support Yours Humanly's educational projects and programs that benefit undeserved children in Cambodia, Haiti, India, Nepal, the Philippines, and the United States. Festivities for the fun, formal affair begin at 5pm with a cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception, and include dinner, silent and live auctions, live entertainment, and dancing. Emcee Juliette Goodrich, award-winning KPIX news anchor, will be joined by guest speaker John Sasaki, communications director of Oakland Unified School District and former longtime news report/anchor for KTVU Ch. 2, and Sabrina Lewis, Miss California. Oral Lee Brown, founder of the Oral Lee Brown Foundation (Oakland), will be recognized as the 2024 Leading With the Heart Honoree. Tickets can be purchased online at GiftOfSchoolingGala.com.
