Former head designer at PacSun Inc, is showcasing his collection globally at New York and Rakuten Tokyo's Spring Summer 2022 Fashion Weeks. Specifically, making history at Tokyo Fashion Week as their first Black American Menswear Designer.
LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Owner and creator of Silent Panda, Samuel Taylor will be premiering the brand's SS22 collection at Tokyo and New York Fashion Weeks, respectively. This will be a first for the PacSun former head designer, keeping the focus on innovative ways to keep consumers engaged with its Ready-To-Wear wearables and technological concept.
Taylor makes history as he is the first Black American Menswear designer to be featured in Rakuten Tokyo Fashion Week. After hearing the news, Taylor stated, "Participating in Rakuten Tokyo Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week are great honors and I am truly humbled. Starting from an assistant designer almost 2 decades ago and now being on this stage, is a tremendous blessing that I will never take for granted. I want to thank the entire committee of (Rakuten Tokyo Fashion Week) and New York (IMG) The Shows for giving a kid from Oakland, California the opportunity to display his talents on a worldwide stage. To God be the Glory."

About Samuel Taylor
Taylor is a former professional baseball player turned designer. He played seven seasons with the California Angels and the Cincinnati Reds. Upon retiring from baseball, he pivoted to his longtime passion for fashion design, merging his love for both sports and fashion. Taylor has worked senior design roles with PacSun, Levi's, Old Navy, and TESH Sports before founding his own label, Silent Panda in 2017.
