Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach city offices and many services will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, as the city observes its annual Citywide holiday on the first Tuesday after Nov. 1, according to a city announcement. The holiday is observed regardless of election activity in Long Beach.
City Hall will be closed, including the Permit Center, cashiering and payment processing, utility customer service, billing and collections, and parking citations. The city encouraged residents to use online services, including building permit services and bill payment options.
All Long Beach Public Library locations and services, including the main phone line, will also be closed. Digital resources, including the library catalog, downloads and databases, will remain available, the city said.
Other closures include Building and Safety services, Code Enforcement, Health Department facilities, Housing Authority offices, Long Beach Utilities offices, and the Homeless Services Outreach Line. Long Beach Airport administration offices will close, though the airport itself will remain open. Animal Care Services and spcaLA will be closed; the city noted that both are regularly closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Animal Care Services' 24-hour emergency field line will remain available at 562-570-7387.
