Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - As the nation prepares to celebrate Presidents' Day on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, the City of Long Beach has announced its schedule for city facilities and services.
In observance of the holiday, several city facilities will be closed while others will remain open with adjusted schedules. The following is a breakdown of what residents can expect on Presidents' Day.
Open on Monday, Feb. 17:
- All City parks and trails (excluding El Dorado Nature Center)
- El Dorado Regional Park
- Fire Stations and Lifeguard Stations
- Long Beach Airport
- Main Police Station Front Desk
- Marina offices (Alamitos Bay Marina, Shoreline Marina)
- Gas Services Dispatch (562.570.2140) open 24/7 for emergency calls
- Water/Sewer Dispatch (562.570.2390) open 24/7 for emergency calls
Closed on Monday, Feb. 17:
- Billie Jean King Main Library, all branch libraries, including library offices (digital resources available 24/7)
- BizCare Hotline (562.570.4BIZ)
- Building and Safety services, including the Permit Center, inspections and plan reviews
- City Hall
- City-operated pools
- City Prosecutor's Office
- Code Enforcement services
- Economic Development Department's Long Beach Workforce Innovation Network Adult and Youth Career Service Centers

City Hall offices and public services will be closed on Monday, Feb. 17, including commercial services typically available at City Hall such as the Permit Center, Cashiering/Payment Processing, Utility Customer Service, Billing and Collections, and Parking Citations. However, the public is encouraged to utilize the convenient online resources available on the City website for building permit services and bill payment options.

There will be no scheduled street sweeping or enforcement of street sweeping violations on Monday, Feb. 17. Street sweeping will resume its regular schedule on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
Parking violations, including parking meters, will be enforced citywide on Monday, Feb. 17 unless the meter states "Exempt on Holidays." The days and hours of enforcement are displayed inside the meters.
Refuse and recycling will be collected as scheduled on Monday, Feb. 17.
The Towing Operations and Vehicle Storage Facility (3111 E. Willow St., between Temple Avenue and Redondo Avenue) will be closed on Monday, Feb. 17. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Sunday and holidays. Vehicles and property can be released outside of these hours for an additional fee.
All Long Beach Public Library locations and services will also be closed on Saturday, Feb. 15 and Monday, Feb. 17 in observance of Presidents' Day. Library patrons are encouraged to take advantage of the Library's digital resources which are available 24/7.
