Long Beach, CA ~ The City of Long Beach is taking steps to boost economic development in the West Long Beach area by exploring the possibility of establishing a business association. The Department of Economic Development & Opportunity (EDO) is inviting local business owners and stakeholders to attend an event on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Casa Chaskis on Santa Fe Avenue.

According to EDO, they have been actively engaging with businesses along the Santa Fe Avenue corridor, from Anaheim to Willow Streets, in order to better understand their needs and opportunities for growth. This event will provide an opportunity for business owners to meet with City staff, network with other local businesses, and collaborate on ideas and resources for making the area a more thriving marketplace.

The initiative is part of the Westside Promise program, which aims to create jobs, expand workforce training opportunities, and drive long-term economic growth in the West Long Beach community. A key aspect of this effort is the establishment of a new business association dedicated to enhancing economic growth in the area.
