NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., May 2, 2025 ~ Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) has recently announced the finalists for the highly coveted Entrepreneur Of The Year 2025 Pacific Southwest Award. This prestigious program, now in its 40th year, recognizes and celebrates bold leaders who are disrupting markets through their groundbreaking companies and making a profound impact on communities.
The independent panel of judges has selected Lance Watkins as one of the finalists for his entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth, and lasting impact in building long-term value. Watkins, who has been in the self-storage industry for over 25 years, expressed his gratitude for being named a finalist. He credits his journey to mentorship and a relentless pursuit of finding innovative ways to operate. From utilizing underutilized land to embracing the potential of the internet for reaching tenants, innovation has always been at the core of Watkins' work.
Watkins' drive led him to pioneer e-commerce capabilities for the storage industry through Storage Outlet, transform auctions with StorageTreasures, launch the first full-service co-op through Storelocal, and focus on shaping the future of self-storage software with Tenant Inc., which is the first operator-focused VSaaS platform. He believes that this recognition validates his career-long pursuit but gives credit to his incredible teams across Storage Outlet, StorageTreasures, Storelocal, Charity Storage, and Tenant Inc. for their hard work and dedication.

The Entrepreneur Of The Year program celebrates business leaders who demonstrate ingenuity, courage, and an entrepreneurial spirit. It recognizes original founders who have bootstrapped their business from inception or raised outside capital to grow their company; transformational CEOs who have infused innovation into an existing organization; and multigenerational family business leaders who have reimagined a legacy business model to strengthen it for the future.
The regional award winners will be announced on June 6th during a special celebration in San Diego. They will also become lifetime members of an esteemed community of Entrepreneur Of The Year alumni from around the world. These winners will then be considered by the National judges for the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards, which will be presented in November at the annual Strategic Growth Forum®, one of the nation's most prestigious gatherings of high-growth, market-leading companies.
