EUGENE, Ore. - Californer -- Every member of staff at Green Health Eugene is required to complete further education, and they are all CBD certified through East Fork Cultivars educational program. This program focused heavily on the endocannabinoid system and how CBD affects the body and the potential side effects of CBD.

Endocannabinoids are molecules that are produced by the body, and while similar in make up to a cannabinoid, they are different in the fact that they are produced entirely by the human body. While it is hard to measure the levels that exist in the body, we do know that these bind to endocannabinoid receptors in either the central nervous system or in the immune system. Although it is unclear exactly what endocannabinoids do when they bind to a receptor, it is believed that they can help with: inflammation, chronic pain, sleep, liver function and more. Most importantly it is believed that endocannabinoids maintain the homeostasis of the human body. THC binds to receptors just like endocannabinoids and can produce a range of effects. How CBD affects the body is still up for debate, but it is believed that CBD assists in the endocannabinoid in not being broken down, allowing more of a long term effect.
