BAY AREA, Calif. - Californer -- On January 1, 2026, millions of Americans woke up to higher healthcare costs. Premiums jumped. Deductibles jumped. Prescription prices jumped. And working families were left holding the bag.

This didn't happen by accident.

It happened because Democrats in Washington made healthcare more expensive — and then failed to act before the damage hit.

For years, Democrats promised Americans that the Affordable Care Act would make healthcare more affordable. Instead, they expanded government control, distorted insurance markets, and then let critical affordability provisions expire, fully aware that premiums would spike.

• Increase price transparency so families know costs before treatment
• Hold drug companies accountable
• Fix what Democrats broke — without turning healthcare into a government takeover

Bottom Line

Healthcare should not be a luxury.

It should not be a political experiment.

And it should not be this expensive.

Democrats promised affordability.

They delivered higher bills.
