Jess Brown Appointed Executive Director of the San Francisco Farm Bureau
San Francisco, CA - May 1, 2025 - The San Francisco Farm Bureau (SFFB) - the first chartered in the state in nearly 40 years - is excited to announce the appointment of Jess Brown as its new Executive Director. Jess brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the role, having served as the Executive Director of the San Mateo, Santa Cruz, and Santa Clara Counties Farm Bureaus as well as the educational organization Agri-Culture. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to community service, serving on numerous boards and organizations, including Leadership Santa Cruz County and the Tannery Arts Center. His leadership skills and passion for agricultural advocacy will undoubtedly benefit the San Francisco Farm Bureau and its members.

In addition to his role with the Farm Bureaus, Jess has an extensive history of involvement with philanthropic and educational organizations. He has served as past-president of the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County, Monterey Museum of Art, and Cabrillo College Foundation, among others. He is also a founder of Ag Against Hunger, which has distributed nearly 300 million pounds of local produce to people in need over the past 29 years. Jess's dedication to bridging the gap between agriculture and community service reflects his strong belief in the power of collaboration for positive social impact.
Jess's leadership extends beyond local efforts to global initiatives. He is a graduate of three prestigious state and national leadership programs, which have taken him to Japan, China, Hong Kong, Germany, and Denmark. His international experience has also led him to volunteer five times in Zimbabwe, where he taught organizational skills to re-settled farmers, and in Mozambique, where he shared financial literacy with agro-dealers. His unique combination of local and international experience, coupled with his unwavering dedication to improving the agricultural sector, makes Jess an invaluable asset to the San Francisco Farm Bureau as it continues its growth and mission to support and advocate for the region's agricultural community
