According to Luben Pampoulov, Partner at GSV Ventures, the rapid rise of generative AI has opened up new possibilities in education. He believes that multi-modality is making learning more engaging and AI tools are driving personalization and productivity at an unprecedented speed. Pampoulov also noted that all the companies on the 2025 GSV 150 list have incorporated generative AI into their offerings.
To determine the final list of companies, GSV evaluated venture capital and private equity-backed private for-profit companies using their proprietary rubric. This included factors such as revenue scale, revenue growth, user reach, geographic diversification, and margin profile. Collectively, these selected companies are reaching approximately 3 billion learners and generating $25 billion in annual revenue.
The majority of companies on the 2025 GSV 150 list are focused on K-12 education (48%), followed by workforce learning (46%), higher education (31%), adult consumer learning (12%), and early childhood (4%). Additionally, a quarter of the companies span across multiple sectors, from "PreK to Gray."
The full GSV 150 list can be viewed on their website. Many of these companies will also be attending the ASU+GSV Summit in San Diego from April 6-9. This event brings together leaders and innovators in education and technology to discuss the future of learning. Teaching Strategies is proud to be a part of this prestigious list and looks forward to continuing their mission of transforming digital learning for early childhood education.
