ATLANTA, Aug. 1, 2024 ~ In a recent announcement, it was revealed that Costco has made a significant contribution of $255,000 to LEADing for Life Enterprise over the past two years. This generous donation was made possible through a portion of the sales from Naturade, a popular product sold at Costco.
LEADing for Life Enterprise is a global nonprofit organization that focuses on providing under-resourced high school students with immersive experiences in leadership, technology, and entrepreneurship. Their programs and curriculum are designed to prepare students for future success by instilling the principles of pipeline, preparation, and readiness.
Costco's ongoing support through Naturade sales has enabled LEADing for Life to offer scholarships to their participants. These scholarships allow students to attend top-tier experiential college and career learning programs. Many successful alumni of LEADing for Life have credited the organization for their personal and professional growth, including Claude Tellis, co-owner of Naturade.
Tellis shared his experience with LEADing for Life, stating that the organization introduced him to the business world in 1990 through a college and career readiness program at Columbia University. This sparked his passion for business and entrepreneurship, leading him to continue his education at Duke University and The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He expressed his excitement about paying it forward to future world leaders with Costco's continued support.

Naturade, one of the first Black-owned companies to enter Costco, has been available at the retailer since 2021. Their popular High Protein Weight Loss Shake can be found in over 100 stores in the Los Angeles region and online at costco.com. Every purchase of Naturade directly supports LEADing for Life's financial scholarships from Costco.
Dru Ealons, Executive Director of Operations at LEADing for Life Enterprise, expressed gratitude towards Costco and Naturade for choosing them as their nonprofit beneficiary. She stated that their support allows them to admit more students into their programs who may not have been able to afford them otherwise. This, in turn, grants these students access to life-changing opportunities in higher education and empowers them to thrive in the 21st-century knowledge economy.
Costco has a long-standing commitment to supporting education, having awarded over $80 million in educational scholarships to date. With their continued support and partnership with organizations like LEADing for Life Enterprise, they are empowering the next generation of leaders and making a positive impact on underserved communities.
