Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach Public Library's Bay Shore Neighborhood Library will temporarily close beginning Oct. 26, 2026, for accessibility improvements to its restrooms. The closure is expected to last until early 2027.
The project will convert the existing restrooms into fully accessible, all-gender facilities. Work will also include relocating an electrical panel, modifying hallway and office walls, upgrading lighting and plumbing fixtures, replacing interior finishes and installing a new drinking fountain, according to the library.
During the closure, the library plans to offer afternoon pickup of materials and continue weekly story times at off-site locations. The library said details about story time locations, dates and times are available through its website.
