Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach is taking steps to address the critical issue of housing in the community. On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m., the Community Development Department will be hosting an open house at the Billie Jean King Main Library Meeting Room A to share information on housing production efforts and rezoning projects in Long Beach.
The event, titled "Planning for Housing: An Open House," will showcase the current efforts of the Department's Planning Bureau to increase housing supply, access, and affordability in Long Beach. This includes the third installment of the HOME Community Roadshow, an initiative from the City's Office of Homeless Strategy and Partnerships that aims to engage with community members and foster open dialogue around housing and homelessness.
Attendees will have the opportunity to view interactive poster displays and speak directly with staff from various departments involved in housing policy work. These include the Planning Bureau, Building and Safety Bureau, Housing and Neighborhood Services Bureau, as well as the Office of Homeless Strategy and Partnerships. Feedback collected during the event will help guide the City's ongoing efforts to address housing challenges and ensure alignment with state mandates.

The open house is part of Long Beach's commitment to equitable and inclusive housing policies that cater to the diverse needs of its residents. To make this event accessible to a wider audience, interpretation services in Spanish, Khmer, and Tagalog will be available upon request.
