LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Scientology Media Productions took home Gold at the 2025 dotCOMM Awards for an episode of Meet a Scientologist featuring Jeffery, Angel and Mick Cheng, traditional Taiwanese fried shallot producers. The episode earned top honors in the Food and Beverage category.

The dotCOMM Awards is an international competition celebrating the best in digital communication and creativity. Judged by industry leaders spanning marketing, communications, advertising and media production, the awards highlight innovation and excellence.

Together with his wife, Angel Lin, and their son, Mick, Jeffery Cheng revived the fried shallot business founded by his father in Taiwan. Renowned for their rich aroma and crisp, golden texture, the delicacy elevates any dish it touches. As cheaper products flooded the market, Jeffery fused traditional techniques with modern, uncompromising quality control. The family turned a once-fading craft into a thriving enterprise, winning taste buds across the globe.

This Gold distinction is among eight honors recognizing Scientology Media Productions at the 2025 dotCOMM Awards. Two of those honors went to Meet a Scientologist, bringing the series' total to 30 accolades.
