Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - As the summer season approaches, the City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) is gearing up to welcome it with a free concert featuring the popular Pop Vinyl Band. The event will take place on Friday, May 23 at El Dorado Park West, located on Studebaker Road north of Willow Street.
Attendees can expect an evening filled with lively music as the band performs a variety of genres including pop, funk, soul, rock, Top 40, and Latin. This family-friendly event is open to all and promises to be a fun-filled night for everyone.
Mayor Rex Richardson expressed his excitement for the upcoming concert stating, "With summer right around the corner, we are thrilled to invite the community to join us in welcoming the warm summer months with this free evening of great music." He also highlighted how this annual Summer Kickoff Concert showcases the city's commitment to bringing people together to celebrate arts, culture and music.

The concert will kick off at 6 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m., giving attendees plenty of time to enjoy the music. Blankets, chairs and picnic dinners are encouraged for those who wish to relax on the lawn while enjoying the concert.
Fourth District Councilman Daryl Supernaw also shared his enthusiasm for the event saying, "This concert is what summer is all about - coming together as a community to enjoy some great music and connect with one another." He urged everyone to mark their calendars for May 23 and join in on kicking off summer at El Dorado Park West.
PRM Director Brent Dennis echoed similar sentiments stating that this concert is a Long Beach tradition that signifies the start of a season filled with music in parks throughout the city. He added that there will be many other free family-friendly events hosted by PRM this summer such as Movies in the Park and ensembles at El Dorado Nature Center.
