"I am incredibly proud of the ways our team members have risen to the occasion and demonstrated compassion and strength along the way," added Fischer. "To achieve top ten ranking on Fortune's Best Workplaces for Aging Service, especially during a pandemic, speaks volumes. Even when extraordinary demands are required, our team members feel genuinely supported and find fulfillment in their jobs."

To be considered for Fortune magazine's 2020 Best Workplaces in Aging ranking, companies had to meet the Great Place to Work certification standard – a feat MBK Senior Living has achieved since 2017. To ensure survey results truly represent all employees, Great Place to Work requires that Trust Index© survey results are accurate to a 95% confidence level with a 5% margin of error or better. Company news and financial performance were also factored in the ranking process.
MSL has earned a solid reputation for its enduring company culture and commitment to seniors, families, and team members spanning more than three decades. At the core of the company's culture is a Yoi Shigoto philosophy (translated from Japanese, "the good work") to nurture residents and team members, cultivate skills, maintain high ethical standards, and pursue constant, genuine improvement.
"Yoi Shigoto starts with good work and creates a ripple effect that adds value, provides a sense of satisfaction, and ultimately has a positive influence on our world," said Fischer. "There couldn't be a better time for us to strive to make a difference – for our residents, our team members, and the world."
