Advocate, Speaker, and Coach Encourages Youth to Live a Self-Determined Life
SAN DIEGO - Californer -- San Diego, CA — Molly Kennedy Consulting empowers youth with disabilities, as well as their families, educators, to build the skills and confidence required to live a self-determined life. Founder Molly Kennedy is expanding her person-centered coaching and training offerings and has launched Be Determined, a bi-weekly podcast designed to share practical strategies and inspiring stories with a national audience.
Kennedy's approach is grounded in lived experience. Born with cerebral palsy, she grew up in a world that often equated limitations with identity. She chose a different path, one that strengthens voice and agency, saying, "It's not what you overcome, it's what you become."
Kennedy provides individualized student coaching that helps young people identify strengths and practice real-world self-determination skills such as decision making, problem solving, goal setting, self-advocacy, and clear communication, so students are prepared for life after high school. She pairs that with family guidance that shifts adults from directing to championing, ensuring the student leads with a supportive team behind them. For schools and districts, Kennedy offers professional development and classroom strategies that elevate student voice, strengthen inclusion, and build independence across learning environments.

The Be Determined (https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/be-determined/id1772739689) podcast extends this mission beyond the classroom. Each episode explores themes of identity, resilience, diversity, advocacy, relationships, and community, challenging conventional narratives about living with a disability. The show serves as a central resource for communities seeking clear guidance on self-advocacy, transition planning, and everyday independence.
Kennedy's work meets a rising demand for person-centered supports that respect the goals and preferences of the individual. By pairing compassionate coaching with concrete tools, she helps students define what success looks like and build the skills to pursue it. Families learn how to encourage autonomy without losing connection, while educators gain strategies to foster ownership and engagement in the classroom.
