LOS ANGELES, Aug. 6, 2025 ~ In a show of solidarity and strength, more than 300 Teamsters from Locals 186, 495, 848, and 986 at National Ready Mixed Concrete have ratified a three-year contract with the building materials supplier. The overwhelming ratification comes after the Teamsters were locked out by National Ready Mixed as retaliation for rejecting the company's previous concessionary offer.
The drivers, mechanics, and bulk material haulers who operate out of 10 locations in Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura Counties in California voted by a margin of 2-to-1 in favor of the new contract. This agreement includes a substantial increase in wages, improved working conditions, and core protections for job security and stability.
Tom Gesualdi, Director of the Teamsters Building Material and Construction Trade Division expressed his pride in the members for standing strong against the company's disrespectful demands. He stated that this contract is a testament to the power of unity among Teamsters.

The ratification of this contract follows multiple unfair labor practice charges filed by the Teamsters against National Ready Mixed over surface bargaining and bad faith conduct during negotiations. The union made it clear from the beginning that there would be no concessions or extensions accepted.
Ron Seamans Jr., Chair of the National Ready Mix Teamsters National Negotiating Committee, emphasized that their stance remained unwavering throughout the negotiations despite facing a 27-day lockout by National Ready Mixed. He credited their unity for securing a contract that protects their standards and secures real gains.
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters was founded in 1903 and represents over 1.3 million hardworking individuals in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. According to Lena Melentijevic, spokesperson for the union (347)208-2279), this victory is proof that when Teamsters fight together, they can achieve great success.
