TEMPE, Ariz. - Californer -- The Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Accreditation Commission (NEMTAC) is excited to announce the opening of the public comment period for the NEMTAC 3001-202X Transportation Specialist Education Draft Standard. This proposed standard establishes the minimum educational requirements for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) drivers across the industry.
The draft standard is now available for review, and public comments will be accepted from Friday, October 11, through Monday, November 25, 2024. NEMT professionals, stakeholders, and the general public are encouraged to participate in this important process to enhance safety and professionalism within the NEMT industry.
The NEMTAC 3001-202X standard defines the essential training and qualifications necessary for NEMT drivers to safely and effectively transport patients to and from healthcare appointments.
