OncosAI answers cancer questions in 36 languages using only verified medical sources, giving patients and caregivers free, cited information with no sign-up and no data collection.
SAN DIEGO - Californer -- OncosAI.com, a free cancer information platform run by The J.T. Gram Foundation, has served 87,000 users in 85 countries and answered more than 1.9 million interactions since launching in January 2026. The platform works in 36 languages and has grown entirely through word of mouth, with no paid marketing.
After a cancer diagnosis, most patients search online first. What they find is a mix of trusted institutions, unproven cures and outright scams, often with no clear way to tell them apart. For patients who do not read English, trustworthy options are even harder to find.
"When someone hears 'you have cancer,' the first thing they do is search online, and too often they find misinformation," said John T. Gram, founder and president of The J.T. Gram Foundation. "We built OncosAI so every patient, in any language, can get answers they can trust, for free."

OncosAI answers questions in plain language, 24 hours a day, at no cost. It draws only on verified medical sources, such as the National Cancer Institute and ClinicalTrials.gov, and cannot pull from the open internet, so it does not repeat the misinformation patients encounter elsewhere. Every answer includes citations, allowing patients and caregivers to check the evidence themselves. The platform stores no patient data and will never sell or monetize it. Ninety percent of users report being satisfied with the service.
Language access is central to the platform's reach. By working in 36 languages, OncosAI gives immigrant families and patients around the world reliable answers in their own language during one of the most difficult moments of their lives.
The foundation plans to add more languages, clinical trial search and partnerships with cancer centers and patient-support organizations, expanding as funding allows.
