Veteran CBS newsman Charles Kuralt's popular "On the Road" series always intrigued me. Hutchinson was an avid watcher. The series ran from 1967 through 1980 on CBS.
Kuralt struck out in his motor home to see and showcase the real America-towns, locales, and most important sites. In his travel series, On the Los Angeles Road with Earl Ofari Hutchinson, he follows Kuralt's pioneering path. He hits the Los Angeles Road to explore and discuss the historic sites, locales, and interesting neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles.

This fulfills a dream of many Americans to get out and see the sites, exploring new locations, learning about the diverse ways of life, and living of people in different regions of the country. "Los Angeles, as America is a big diverse, and varied city and region of America. It has a rich and deep cultural, linguistic, and ethnic history that fascinates many tourists and residents alike."
Hutchinson's goal is to bring that history and culture to life for many within and without Los Angeles and Southern California. On the Los Angeles Road with Earl Ofari Hutchinson seeks to present a bus persons tour guide of a part of America that has allured, fascinated and been a drawing card for and to millions for decades.
