HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Jan. 21, 2019 - Californer -- Decentered will screen at the prestigious Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival held at the L.A. Live / Staples Center running from February 12 through February 22, 2019. Decentered screening will be followed by a brief Q&A session with Producer/Director Ralph Michael Brekan.
Ralph Michael Brekan's 27-minute experimental art film, Decentered, manifests as a psychological thriller addressing hot button issues of national security and invasion of privacy. The exhilarating narrative presents insatiable paranoia through the eyes of a former combat veteran, Finn Renfro. Aimed to please audiences of conspiracy thriller TV shows, like The Blacklist, 24 and Westworld, Decentered leaves viewers asking questions and wanting answers. Will Finn be captured by the FBI? Or can he purge the programming from his mind and unwittingly foil the government's plot?
Decentered was co-written by Brian Paul and Ralph Michael Brekan, who wears multiple hats on this project including actor, producer and director. Currently negotiating a development deal with Cartoon Network, Brekan intends on pitching Decentered as a limited series to HBO or Amazon.

"I am really proud that this festival recognizes the Decentered pilot as a standalone work of art," says Brekan. "I originally created Decentered as a demo reel for myself and other actors and to prove Brian's story idea as a concept for a television series and it is really exciting to see it take on a life of its own."
Brekan's previous film work includes the 2012 experimental feature, Lighthouse Lane, a Sundance entry, which won seven awards, including best experimental feature at the LA Movie awards.
