Want to read something funny? Here is an ad I wrote about a fictitious product for Artificial Insemination called "Man in a Can"
SAN MATEO, Calif. - Californer -- There was a recent story in the news about concerns about a pregnancy where two sperm donors were used in the same insemination.
When I heard that story, I thought back to an ad I wrote many years ago about a fictitious product I thought up called "Man in a Can."
I wrote the ad when I was taking an advertising copywriting class in about 1978 and the first assignment was to write a bad ad.
So…I wrote an ad for a totally fictitious product I thought about for artificial insemination called "Man in a Can."
PART OF THE AD WENT LIKE THIS:
"MAN IN A CAN"
Copyright 1978 by Robert M. Barrows
Female voice: "Ohhh, such a cute little baby, but where'd she get those baby blue eyes?"
Mother's voice: "Oh, didn't I tell you. She got them from Man in a Can." It's the latest in artificial insemination…and with Man in a Can, there's nothing artificial about those big baby blues!
More on The Californer
Announcer: "Yessiree folks! She got those big baby blues from Man in a Can.
Man in the Can is the latest in artificial insemination, and
with Man in a Can, you choose the eyes, you choose the size and even the guys.
So don't beg for romance...That's taking a chance.
Your little progeny deserve the best genealogy that money can
buy, and Man in a Can is your guarantee of having a beauty instead of a
beast.
So look for the can with a "Man in a Can"...it comes with a patented king size studsickle insert that melts in your body, not in your hands…"
Man in a Can! It's the latest and it's the greatest in artificial insemination.
Man in a Can…for the woman who knows what she puts in her body is what her body puts out."

I also ran a radio version of the ad many years ago.
You can see some more of my humor in a book of jokes I wrote called "Crazy Robert's Joke Book" that you can download for a dollar on Amazon.
