SAN JOSE, CA - Mayor Sam Liccardo made the following statement after Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen announced that he would be dropping charges in 14 cases related to the San Jose Police Officers who posted racist and offensive social media comments.

"As a former prosecutor, I know too well that criminal convictions often turn on the credibility of one or two key witnesses, and a police officer's expressions of racism and bigotry undermine that credibility. The decision today isn't about political correctness; it's about the integrity of our criminal justice system."
