~ The City of San Jose, California is proposing the 1520 West San Carlos Mixed Use Project, which would involve the demolition of all existing buildings on-site and the removal of 29 trees. The project would include 256 residential units and approximately 15,202 square feet of commercial space on the 1.62-gross acre site. The project applicant is also requesting an approximately 38 percent parking reduction and a Tentative Map to combine the existing four lots into one lot for the development.
The City has performed an environmental review of the project and has prepared a Draft Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for this project. An MND is a statement by the City that the project will not have a significant effect on the environment because it will include mitigation measures that will reduce identified project impacts to a less than significant level. The public is welcome to review and comment on the Draft MND during a public comment period from Wednesday, May 17, 2023 to Tuesday June 6, 2023.
