~ The City of San Jose, California is proposing the 1520 West San Carlos Mixed Use Project, which would involve the demolition of all existing buildings on-site and the removal of 29 trees. The project would include 256 residential units and approximately 15,202 square feet of commercial space on the 1.62-gross acre site. The project applicant is also requesting an approximately 38 percent parking reduction and a Tentative Map to combine the existing four lots into one lot for the development.
The City has performed an environmental review of the project and has prepared a Draft Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for this project. An MND is a statement by the City that the project will not have a significant effect on the environment because it will include mitigation measures that will reduce identified project impacts to a less than significant level. The public is welcome to review and comment on the Draft MND during a public comment period from Wednesday, May 17, 2023 to Tuesday June 6, 2023.

This MND states that there will be no significant effect on environment due to mitigation measures reducing identified impacts below significant level as per California Government Code Section 65962.5 which does not list this site as hazardous waste site or list it otherwise in any way whatsoever .
