~ The Silicon Valley Council of Nonprofits (SVCN) recently demonstrated their commitment to the local community by volunteering with several other organizations to package 9,000 pounds of food boxes for distribution to various families in the county. Marvah Gorlorwulu, Learning + Member Engagement Specialist at SVCN, was impressed by the amount of weight they were able to package. Danna Elneil, Learning + Member Engagement Director at SVCN, added that it was important for them to volunteer and witness the scale of work first hand.
SVCN works together with other organizations to empower individuals to effect change and help residents in their own communities. They understand the huge impact nonprofit organizations have on our local community and are dedicated to making a difference. Unfortunately, due to the U.S. government ending the COVID national emergency, there has been a decrease in organization participants in recent weeks. This is why food distribution organizations need more support now more than ever.
