BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Californer -- Independent films under 40 minutes in length that were created after September 30, 2022 are eligible to obtain a September 2024 Academy Award® Nomination Qualifying Standard Theatrical Run. To even be able to qualify for Academy Award® Nomination Consideration, a short film must first win an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences approved major film festival competition or have a seven consecutive day run of screenings in a Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences approved movie theatre.
